Sahith Theegala adds to accomplishments, wins Ben Hogan Award

Sahith Theegala’s amateur career may be over, but the awards continue to roll in.
 
After capping his five-year Pepperdine career with GCAA first-team All-America honors and a Fred Haskins Award, Theegala took home the Ben Hogan Award on Tuesday night.
 
The Hogan Award is voted on by a 30-man committee comprised of experts in amateur, college and professional golf, and goes to the top men’s college player taking into account all amateur competition in the past 12 months. Theegala was announced as the recipient over other finalists, Vanderbilt’s John Augenstein and Florida’s Ricky Castillo, in a virtual announcement at his home that replaced the usual black-tie banquet held annually at Colonial Country Club.
